01 What Grains is

Grains is a time-visualization app that lets you create countdowns to events you care about and build daily habits. Time is shown as a grid of grains — each grain is one day. As time passes, grains fill in.

Grains is built and operated by Pradhumansinh Padhiyar ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.

02 Data we do not collect

We want to be explicit. The following information is never collected, transmitted, or stored by us:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your event names, dates, or any countdown data
• Your habit names, check-in history, or streaks
• Your location or device location
• Your photos, contacts, or any other device data
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral tracking
• Any form of advertising identifier

Everything you create in Grains — every event, habit, and theme preference — stays on your device in local storage. We have no access to it. Nobody does except you.

03 Cloud sync (optional)

Cloud sync is an optional Grains Pro feature. It is never enabled automatically. You choose to turn it on.

When you enable cloud sync, you sign in with Apple. Your data is then stored in our database (Supabase) so it can be accessed across your devices. The following applies:

• Authentication — handled by Apple's Sign in with Apple. We never see your Apple ID password.
• Your data — your events and habits are stored encrypted at rest in our database, linked to your Apple ID.
• Access — only you can read or write your data. Row-level security ensures no other user or even we can access your records.
• Deletion — you can delete all your cloud data at any time from Settings → Clear All Data.

If you use Grains without signing in, absolutely no data leaves your device. The app works fully offline with complete functionality.

04 Third-party services

Grains uses two external services. Neither of them receives your personal content.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, any advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking services. Grains contains no ads.

05 Notifications

Grains can send you local notifications for habit reminders and milestone alerts. These are entirely optional and scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to any server to trigger them. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Grains.

06 Children's privacy

Grains is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used Grains in a way that has shared data, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

07 Changes to this policy

If we ever change this Privacy Policy in a meaningful way — for example, if we introduce analytics or change how cloud data is handled — we will notify you through the app before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Our commitment is simple: we will never sell your data, never show you ads, and never collect more than what is strictly necessary to make the app work.
